Voting Process
How do I cast my vote on VoteIndia?
To cast your vote on VoteIndia, follow these steps:
- Log in to your VoteIndia account during the active voting period
- Navigate to the "Vote" section from the main menu or dashboard
- Verify your identity using the two-factor authentication method
- Review the list of candidates for your constituency
- Select your preferred candidate by clicking on their name/symbol
- Confirm your selection on the verification screen
- Submit your vote
After submission, you will receive a confirmation receipt with a unique reference number. This confirms that your vote has been recorded, but does not reveal your choice to maintain ballot secrecy.
Is my vote confidential?
Yes, your vote is completely confidential. VoteIndia employs several measures to ensure ballot secrecy:
- The system separates your identity from your voting choice
- End-to-end encryption is used for all voting data
- No record is maintained that can link a voter to their specific vote
- The confirmation receipt only confirms that you voted, not who you voted for
- Access to voting data is strictly controlled and audited
These measures ensure that no one, including election officials and system administrators, can determine how you voted.
Can I change my vote after submission?
No, you cannot change your vote after submission. Once you confirm and submit your vote, it is final and cannot be altered or withdrawn. This is similar to traditional voting systems and ensures the integrity of the electoral process.
Therefore, please review your selection carefully before confirming your vote. The system will ask you to verify your choice before final submission to minimize errors.
